From the supplier: The results of a William M. Mercer Inc survey indicate that 85% of US workers were covered by some type of managed-care plan in 1997. That compares to 77% in 1997. The results show that more workers were enrolled in preferred-provider organizations than in health maintenance organizations, fee-for-service plans, or point-of-service plans. Health plan costs rose just 0.2% for employees in 1997, according to the study.
