The House That Cleans Itself: Creative Solutions for a Clean and Orderly House in Less Time Than You Can Imagine
The House That Cleans Itself is a true housekeeping guide for the housekeeping–impaired! It boldly takes on the reasons behind chronic messiness and why ordinary home–organization books won’t work. Using the methods of “horizontal thinking,” this book teaches readers how to set up a home so efficiently and logically that it seems to clean itself. More than a how–to book, The House That Cleans Itself also looks at what God has to say about cleanliness and order, and how He can inspire order in every reader’s life in a fresh and unique way. For added fun, some of the tips Mindy uses come from research for her popular novels, The Trouble with Tulip, Blind Dates Can Be Murder, and Elementary, My Dear Watkins. .

Narratives of the French & Indian War: Ranger Brown's Narrative, The Adventures of Robert Eastburn, The Journal of Rufus Putnam-Provincial Infantry & Orderly ... on the Ticonderoga-Crown Point Campaign
Four essential accounts of war in the New World This book will be a joy to all those-academic and casual-who have an interest in the Seven Years War as it was fought in America in the middle of the eighteenth century-the conflict we now know as the French and Indian War. These narratives are too packed with action and incredible events to give details here. They are all shorter works which, without companions, would have been unlikely to see publication individually, but joined together the reader can immerse himself in the times and be enthralled by the voices of those who experienced these momentous times. Here are Rogers, Israel Putnam and other famous Rangers who weave their presence and deeds through each account. Here are the Provincials and the Regulars-the Royal Americans and the Highlanders. Here are Fort Bull, Fort William Henry, Crown Point and Ticonderoga. Here are Monroe, Amherst, Howe, Johnson and many others. This is the experience of war against the French and their fierce Indian allies in the deep woods of the American Frontier. Raids, ambushes, flights, captures, ordeals and escapes fill all the pages of this truly indispensable book!.

A Decent, Orderly Lynching: The Montana Vigilantes
The deadliest campaign of vigilante justice in American history erupted in the Rocky Mountains during the Civil War when a private army hanged twenty-one troublemakers. Hailed as great heroes at the time, the Montana vigilantes are still revered as founding fathers. Combing through original sources, including eye-witness accounts never before published, Frederick Allen concludes that the vigilantes were justified in their early actions, as they fought violent crime in a remote corner beyond the reach of government. But Allen has uncovered evidence that the vigilantes refused to disband after territorial courts were in place. Remaining active for six years, they lynched more than fifty men without trials. Reliance on mob rule in Montana became so ingrained that in 1883, a Helena newspaper editor advocated a return to "decent, orderly lynching" as a legitimate tool of social control. Allen's sharply drawn characters, illustrated by dozens of photographs, are woven into a masterfully written narrative that will change textbook accounts of Montana's early days--and challenge our thinking on the essence of justice..

Unwaried Patience and Fortitude: Francis Marion's Orderly Book
Francis Marion is an icon in the state of South Carolina, and much of what is known about him has been distorted, so that now he is more legend than a real man. Marion was one of the most versatile commanders in the Revolution. He adapted to whatever was thrown his way. Marion was not the typical hero. He was short, middle aged and walked with a limp. His orders to his men were written in an order book, along with comments of what was happening. This book is the longest one existing, with daily entries from 1775 to 1782..

Observations of an Orderly: Some Glimpses of Life and Work in an English War Hospital
A R.A.M.C. orderly's experiences during World War One at the 3rd London General Hospital, Wandsworth, in the East End of London. He relates everyday life within the hut hospital, the predominantly cockney soldier patients and their wives, matron's sternness (R.A.M.C. stands for 'Run Away Matron's Coming!’), and talks about the nurses, V.A.D.s and other staff within the hospital. He tells us of the kindness of a Nursing Sister to a soldier's family, and of another Sister's 'pilfering' ways (who after bring 'caught' promptly left for the French Front). He also talks of unloading the packed hospital trains alongside the 'Bluebottles' (the civilian London Ambulance Column) who had worked without ceasing all the previous night at Charing Cross and Paddington Stations. The story of the blind and partially sighted soldiers out on a day trip deciding to have fun by going up and down on the escalators on the London Underground is very funny, and particularly poignant is the tale of a blind soldier's homecoming to his miner's cottage in Yorkshire..

An Orderly Man
In 1970 Dirk Bogarde retired from acting and turned towards a quieter, more contemplative, more settled way of life. He both dreaded and yearned for a change from the preceding 20 years of "continual motion." Bogarde sought "a place of my own" and found it in a dilapidated farmhouse in the south of France. He writes eloquently of the dual struggle he faced--first dealing with years of neglect to the house and the land; second, with the awful fear that he had made a frightful error. Finally, we share his success in creating a real home, a sanctuary of simplicity and quiet ease where he intends to stay for good. "Bogarde's rare talent for giving resonance to both the small and large moments of life makes this a singularly rich and satisfying memoir." (Publisher's Source).
